Start with your child's goal
Before searching, be clear whether your child needs help with a weak subject, regular revision, board exam preparation or an entrance exam. The goal decides the kind of teacher you need.
Check experience and teaching style
Ask how long the teacher has taught the subject and board, and how they handle doubts. A short demo or conversation shows whether their style suits your child.
Look at reviews and consistency
Genuine reviews from other students and parents help a lot. Prefer teachers who share a clear schedule, regular test plans and progress updates.
Agree on fees and expectations
Discuss fees, batch size, attendance and communication upfront so that there are no surprises later.
